The Model 2200 Scaler/Ratemeter is designed for sample counting and single-channel analyzing when used with an appropriate detector. Two independently adjustable discriminators allow the user to set an “energy window” to count pulses within a user-specified energy range corresponding to the radionuclide of interest. This portable unit can be powered by wall current or by four D-cell batteries. When equipped with
the optional Well Counter (187-243), the unit serves as a reliable and efficient tool for wipe test counting, Schilling tests, and other procedures involving radiopharmaceuticals or ionizing radiation. The Well Counter’s 4pi geometry provides high sensitivity to isotopes such as I-131. The Scaler/Ratemeter can be set up with optional Low Energy Gamma Scintillation Probe (051-443) and lead-collimated Sample Holder (075-
550) as a more moderately priced alternative for conducting wipe tests and general contamination surveys. The Model 2200 has an RS-232 serial port for connection to a computer or printer for logging and output of count data. Windows®- based software is also included so that a PC can be used to control count time, date-stamp records, print hard copy, or save data to disk files.
